Weather Resistant Barriers are a critical part of the wall assembly but so insulation. Which one is more important? After reviewing the history of Weather Resistant Barriers, we will discuss the answer to this question and review the expected performance aspects of WRBs and wall insulation. These wall system components must work together to create a wall system that is constructed based off of sound building science.

- Understand the evolution of WRB materials in the construction industry.
- Articulate the benefits and shortcomings of each WRB material involved with the various building envelope areas of use.
- Understand and easily communicate why WRBs and continuous insulation are of equal importance.
- Understand E96 testing methods and articulate why managing and controlling air and moisture intrusion leads to better performing structures.
