Primers used in roofing applications are often the initial layer of coating applied to a substrate. They are used to improve the adhesion of roof coatings to various substrates. Primers can also be utilized to change the color of the substrate in order to warm or cool the roof deck, and/or to inhibit rust or bleed-through on asphaltic surfaces. Choosing the correct primer for your application will result in a long-lasting and properly performing system.
